Congrats, she says cautiously. Retail work is tough. Are you mobile enough to work a sales floor, or is it really really really upper level management?
I don't know, it's her story and I simply leave it at that. But I worked at Target for years and recently my former boss announced his retirement and put me on the short list for people to take his place. Which long story short I cleared the interview. I'm going to essentially be in charge of managing the warehouse staff and they're going to start training me just as soon as my doctor clears it. It's good to know I wasn't forgotten.

Hmm, Opeth and Katatonia are playing locally in May.

Opeth is fantastic live, but I have to admit both the missus and I were very disappointed by Katatonia (and she's an even bigger fan of them than I am). Mostly because Renkse's voice isn't that good live after the first couple of songs, it kind of peters out. Shame, really.

Well, they're only an opening act (which means they're likely only playing five or six songs), and tickets are $25. Seems reasonable for a show that's literally right down the road.

That's an absolute steal, and Katatonia is perfect as an opener. Still bummed out that I didn't catch Opeth last year, when Anathema opened for them. I barely saw any gigs last year, actually. HAving a kid will do that to a man.

My wife got the two of us tickets to see The Gathering in March as a Christmas present, though. Haven't seen them live yet and I love their latest album, so I'm looking forward to that.

    Sleepytime now.

Take care. (Probably should be headed to bed before too long here myself, seeing as I have to be up early to work an overtime shift.)

So there's new singles from Justin Timberlake, David Bowie, Paramore, Nick Cave, and Alice in Chains. Any thoughts on any of them? I'm thinking of doing a video for my blog on them.
