An actual keyboard is so much easier to type on than the touchscreen. Except for the numbers. Those touchscreen keys are huge.

My last one did too (HTC Tilt2) but it weighed enough to pull one side of my pants down.

A smart watch is a very small step up from this. A smart-anything has to be big enough for a person with actual fingers to interact with it. A watch needs to be small enough to comfortably wear on your wrist.
