I guess, but I can't get geography or history questions right. Usually just pop culture. It makes me feel ignorant in general. Makes me wish I had paid more attention in history class.
As for the names, I was plagued with an awful last name before I got married. From that, I want to be sure that whatever we name our kid will be clear and easy to pronounce. I spent decades correcting people and constantly having to spell my name out on the phone, correct it for team things, listen to it butchered by people.
I also wonder if it sounds at all non-english, if there is bias when it comes to applying for jobs and stuff. If you have a Mary or a Jovindanne with equal skills, my guess is the employer goes for the simplest (well, or the best looking...)
