No. It makes getting all the pokemon if you get into it late more difficult than it should be. I should be able to have 2 games and 2 DSs and get all pokemon even if its 30 years after the fact. With their stupid limited time promos thats not possible. If those promos just got you special versions of Pokemon you should already get that would be fine.

Pokemon has always been this way. Mew was event distributed as well. The number of event Pokemon per generation went from 1 to 3 in the 15ish years Pokemon has been kicking, so sequel inflation barely impacted it.
And no, having 2 games and getting all 649 Pokemon won't ever happen. That'll render every previous game in the series that can trade to it completely useless. Even GSC you weren't able to get all 251 with just 2 games. Event Pokemon are completely optional for Pokedex completion, and the game in no way requires you to have those Pokemon in any way, shape, or form. It's the definition of optional limited time free DLC.
I only mind events when I miss them, but the Pokemon are in the market and I have enough to trade to get any that I'm missing.

it has been getting easier and easier to get event pokemon... when I got my first mew for the GBA games I had to wait in line for 5 hours at a Toys R' Us... now with all the WIFI and Wireless events everything is easy... I don't even have to walk into gamestop I can obtain the pokemon from the parking lot outside

Hmm...
So the HMX panel will be at PAX East in Boston on the 22nd, and I just so happen to be on break that following week.
I was debating on Boston or D.C. for my trip, but now I may go to Boston. This is exciting.

Its still dumb. I want to catch Pokemon not go to Gamestop and get it over wi-fi.
Good luck getting tickets. They have been sold out officially for a long time now and any people selling their's are probably selling them for a bunch of money
