The first time the alarm went off I thought it was just someone doing some drilling(the power tool not the sex kind) and ignored it until my roommate called and asked what was going on at the dorm. That was pretty fun.

I've stayed in my room many times when the fire alarm went off. Fire drills every god damn time.

Oddly enough, the one time I had a smoke alarm go off in the dorms due to badly-nuked popcorn, it was by a guy who now has two doctorate degrees.

...and probably still can't make popcorn.

This made me chuckle. Two doctorate degrees and doesn't know how to use a microwave

In the dorms last year we have 6 fire alarms. All because people dont know how to cook popcorn. We are college students and they dont know how to microwave popcorn. -_-

I always undercook my popcorn while the other popcorn maker in my group always overcooks it.

My girlfriend at the time came to visit me one time, she lived about 5 hours away while I was doing this soul searching thing while being a rafting guide. This guy was basically head of the compound and had this big ego about himself. He'd pick up runaways and what not and bring them over there and let them live there if they did "favors", so he was more a deviant in that sense. He really liked the girl I was seeing and kept trying to make advances on her when my back was turned.

Some of my friends and I were going on a midnight run of the Chattanooga River, but she was too tired and stayed home. I got home around 3 and found my door locked and I started banging on the door to get let in my room. My girlfriend opened up the door and hugged me and I later found out that she woke up to our wonderful leader who was "jerking something" over her as she slept. I then found out worse things had happened to a few of the other girls I lived near. I finally had enough of his s*** when I saw the douche passed out drunk after a party. We set him adrift, I packed my bags, dropped off a few of the girls back in town and made my way back home.

One word: Physicist. My friend is almost a real-life Sheldon Cooper.

He claimed the popcorn got away from him because he followed the directions on the bag and didn't know the microwave in the dorm commons was significantly more powerful than the average model. (That's why you don't leave the room while it's popping...)

Why on earth would I actually eat it? I can smell it, and that's enough to keep me away (and my sense of smell... not so good).

All the microwaves Ive used while at college have been significantly under-powered compared to the average model. I have to cook everything twice as long or longer.
