I can't speak for the rest of the lot, but for me it has been more of a personal matter that has caused me to be present very infrequently, at least as an active participant in threads. Every report is still being responded to by at least one of us, though, even if it's a quiet deletion/edit/ban. So no, even though I can understand why you see a link there, there really isn't one as far as I know.

Good to hear. I hope that whatever is happening personally for you that, if it's bad, it turns around, and, if it's good, well glad to hear. It's always nice to have moderator participation in here...

It is what it is. The Cliff's note version is that it's either a creative block that turned into a full-on depression, or a depression that snuck up on me that led to a full-on creative block, I'm still not sure which is cause and which is effect. Either way it's not the absolute worst thing in the world, but depression and frustration (my work and most of my hobbies involve being creative, suddenly more or less losing the ability to express yourself in 70-80% of your life is incredibly frustrating and makes it hard to unwind) does make me a considerably less fun conversation partner on 'bad days', so that's why I mainly avoid the forums then.

Things have been getting a bit better, though, and hopefully the leisure activities I've planned for the upcoming months (weekend away with the missus next month, concerts, comedy performances and the usual (bi-)annual LARP events the months after) will help to turn things around again.

I may be in very deep ****, or i'm wrong about this.

about that guy that got into my photobucket. after looking at the link he sent me again today, I noticed there was a pic in there which i'm pretty sure i've never uploaded.

If that's true then that means he actually hacked my pc. Which would mean I have a very big problem...

@ Lex: I understand and sorry about that. Sounds pretty awful. I'm lucky in that I've never really suffered from depression but have friends that do, so I can somewhat relate. Also, with being self-employed, I'm sure that just compounds the pressure. Anyway, the best advice I can relay is the old adage of "don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small", even though that's not always easy to apply in the real world.

I've been running my own show for long enough that there's not much pressure involved anymore. I can pretty much go into a sort of autopilot mode when translating, although the block does slow the process down a little more than usual and keeps me from delivering my best possible work, but I only rarely come across a project that requires that these days anyway.

If anything, parenting is a much bigger source of pressure. But then again, it's a much bigger source of joy too, so you take the bad with the good, I guess.

Dinner time now. And afterwards I'll get to find out how well that chocolate cake my wife has been baking this afternoon has turned out... and with her track record at baking, I'm sure it'll turn out to be amazing. Silver linings.
