@killer_roach: all your points are exactly why I don't think you can just "generically" or "universally" say band A is better than B. you have to define what aspect of said bands you are comparing.

@SSSS: it's not "nothing ever" it's that you can't have a point blank all encompassing assertion of "better-ness" with regards to comparing bands without stating exactly what aspect your comparing. You could also argue that LB did what they do better than all the other bands in their genre. How does that make them worse than the Beatles? (Btw, mathcore can be interchanged with math metal and is just another, harder form of math rock, if that helps any... Just has a lot of complex and odd time signatures, that, to some, would make them more complex musicians).

@Witt: agreed... Some artists (or at least their art) can be of the simpleton variety... Doesn't mean it can be objectively ranked.

One final comment. I'm in an industry where yes any form of art can be objectively ranked. Value is whatever someone is going to pay which also brings out jealousy to others that believe they can do it better. Frustration runs high when others succeed as opposed to forms others like more floundering. I can't say what makes certain artists work well and others fail, but putting a criticism on aspects that need improvement as opposed to just generalizing an insult is the best way to get an opinion across.

And that's a crappy ass song as well. It's not about the content its about how its approached. When you approach it with the same tastelessness of a 12 year olds wet dreams as opposed to putting true art and allusion and THOUGHT into what you're saying it becomes a better song.
