How long will you play RB after "the end"?

As long as im still maining the Xbox 360 and not stored it in the attic to focus on next gen in a year or two ill still be plugging away at it here and now. Ive spent thousands on the game... you dont just throw that away - oh and of course as long as no one does an EA and pulls the plug on the servers. At the end of the day though the DLC wont go anywhere, HMX will still make a wee bit of money after "the end" because its a great party game and it aint hard to at least get a hold of some microphones so its hard to say what, never mind what the "end" of RB actually is - RBN also needs to be considered.

I play games like this that never had DLC and have been playing for years. I simply love music!

Probably the same pace I play now which is like once a week for an hour. After I'm completely sick of my library, I'll probably stop playing with any consistency forever and only drag it out when I need a nostalgia trip which is pretty much how the PS2 has served me over the past 4 years or so and I don't see Rock Band ending up any different.

I will keep playing until i either run out of instruments or run out of activations for playstation 3 but with 1068 songs and drums,keyboard,guitar and vocals it should take many years.

Voted 1+ years as I'm concerned about how long my instruments will last. Drum kits are impossible to find nowadays and GH guitars are starting to go the same way (my main instruments are guitar/bass/drums). Replayability isn't an issue as I'm still playing GH games, nearly 2 years after its confirmed hiatus. If however you can't play RB on the new xbox, I'm giving up on buying new consoles and will stay in this generation until it does.

Ideally, I'd like to think I'd keep playing, but I have a stack of dusty GH games and Beatles: RB that haven't seen the inside of my XBox in a long time.

The weekly DLC is a nice routine that keeps the game on my radar and gets me excited again. Then, once I start playing, I get through my new tracks and then start saying "one more song" for the better part of a couple of hours. Then, since the game is conveniently in my console, when I need to take a break and want a distraction, I'm reminded of how much fun it is.

I guess I will probably keep playing sporadically, gradually getting longer and longer gaps between sessions until RB joins all the other forgotten toys. RB has held my attention like no other videogame I've ever played. I credit weekly DLC with a huge part of that. I will be sad to see it go when it ends.

As an addition to my first response, my first inclination was to say until my controllers die. I had noticed another thread that indicated that even 5 button guitars were getting hard to find.
So shortly after I posted I ordered a spare MPA, 5 button red strat, keyboard and mustang, all of which will stay boxed until needed as either replacements or to sell in 5 or 10 years when I have developed arthritis and can't physically play anymore.

Honestly, you'd have to say a lot of people will stop "when the PS4 / XBox 720 comes out."

So if its released at $599, maybe an extra year.
But once it's affordable people will switch their systems out.

This assumes that it won't work in some kind of compatibility mode, as it does on the Wii U. Said compatibility mode would require some level of support for legacy wireless controllers.
