"Black Hole Sun" has playable on RB3 for over a year now (the latest update enabled that and "Dani California"). Also you must be new to Rock Band as even from the beginning back in 2007 we've had plenty of pop music.

If you're signed into Xbox live and connected to the internet, you should be prompted to get the update. Black Hole Sun was unblocked since the Soundgarden pack came out last year.
