So was Ocarina of Time when we got Zelda/Shiek. Therefor age of the game shouldn't be a factor.

I don't think it's much of a problem since the game is based on a whole mess of classic characters from older games. Plus I've felt it shouldn't been already done in Brawl -_- Well it could be one those DLC characters, but seeing how Midna and Wolf Link fight together in Twlight Princess, it's a must for Zelda fans.

King K Rool is property of Rare, which also explains why DKCR featured Tikis and not Kremlings.

Would be sweet if they featured Geno, still really want some Super Mario RPG representation.

then how did King K Rool appear in Mario Super Sluggers, Donkey Konga, DK: King of Swing, DK: Jungle Climber, Donkey Kong Barrel Blast, and as a trophy in Super Smash Bros Brawl? All of those were released after Rare left Nintendo

Same rate Geno appeared as a doll in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Nintendo does whatever they want.

not really Geno appeared as a cameo and in the credits then said used with permission from Square

Kind K Rool has been playable in some of those games, Rare lost the Donkey Kong property when they left Nintendo, if they still had the rights then we would not have Diddy Kong in Brawl
