Anything going on in Alaska?
I'd like to expand my playing experience and do something like a competition. I don't know anything about tournaments, any help, ideas, or fingers pointed in the right direction?

It is the work of your producer to arrange tornaments and not you. If you do not have a manager or producer hire one and things are going to be easier for you.
