How do I make the Road Challenge Random Setlists more random? (instead of same songs)

Hi all. I know that DLC is ending soon but I am in need of a bit of help from all you RB pros out there.

I'm still new to RB3 and wondering why the Random Setlists in the Road Challenges are not really random, but instead choosing songs from an extremely small pool of songs. For example, when the Random New Wave setlist is offered, the game will generate "Heart of Glass" and "In a Big Country" (and perhaps one other song) over and over. Likewise, for the Random 70s setlist, it will give me James Brown's "I Feel Good" and Hendrix's "Crosstown Traffic" repeatedly, no matter how many times I drop out and come back. Why do these lists not draw from the hundreds of dlc songs I purchased or the RB1 and RB2 exports (including from those same categories and by the same artists)? Why, for instance, does it never generate Blondie's "One Way or Another" instead of repeatedly giving "Heart of Glass"?

Do I need to unlock these songs somehow to make them available for 'random' selection in the Road Challenges?

Or, do Song Ratings have anything to do with this process? If it matters, I have not rated any songs except for giving the songs I hate a "1"..... all other songs are unrated.

I sincerely appreciate any insights anyone might have, even if it's to tell me that this is simply a known flaw in the game. Thanks for reading and for responding to a newer player that loves the game.

P.S. I know about the 'turning off the genre filter' trick in Custom Setlists, but I really want to take on the Random Setlists without playing the same 3 songs repeatedly. Thank you again.

I think when playing the early road challenges it will pick easier songs out of the genre.

There really isn't much substance to the road challenges except to get the goals, i think you would be much better off using the random song generator and filters in quickplay to get a better variety. I like to pick random songs without looking so i don't know whats coming up next.

There's definitely some sort of difficulty weighting in the Road Challenges, but I've never really stopped to look at what it might be. It'd be hard for me to notice in any case, as I've nearly all DLC (2800+ songs).
