Keeping it simple does not imply that I should keep it the simplest of anyone ever, and moving entire folders to the recycle bin on the desktop is far easier than right clicking, and literally opening your recycle bin is far worse than just right clicking it right on the desktop and telling it to delete everything
I think it's blindingly stupid and a complete waste of time not to have it on your desktop

The recycle bin is useful for individually restoring stuff you've deleted and permanently removing stuff (aka free up hdd space).
Recycling bin totally deserves a spot on the desktop.
Having a totally clean desktop is pretty ree ree if you ask me
Might as well go back to a DOS program and C:\ all your commands if you're going to be that anal retentive about cleanliness

I dont need anything on my desktop and 99% of the time multiple windows are covering the desktop so why would I want anything there?
