James William Roy's The James Rocket Crashing in New York City

Old timers might remember the two RBN downloads from James William Roy: "Paper Valentines" and "Shiny Dark Bar". Some of the more adventurous of you might even know that James William Roy and producerhead Markleford had become The James Rocket, and produced an album, including those two venerable songs - streamable for free and downloadable for cheap: http://www.TheJamesRocket.com/

Well, guess what! It gets more complicated! To The James Rocket, James has added a drummer, a guitarist, fired himself on bass, hired himself for vocals and guitar, and brought on a new bass player, to bring the whole thing out of the studio, and take it LIVE.

The James Rocket has its live debut at Otto's Shrunken Head in Manhattan, on February 10. (Horrible excuse for a Tiki Bar, but a pleasant enough dive. It's free. Come down, if you're in New York that weekend.)

Nice! I won't be in town, but I hope the debut is a smashing success!

Would love to, but it's a little far to travel from the UK. Plus I'll be crusing around the Canary Islands anyway

Have a great time! I'll play paper valentines when I get back, so I can pretend I went

So far this is the only video of the gig that made it out alive (though still shy of 'complete'):

SO: Any of you crazy kids going to be in Manhattan this Wednesday?

Because The James Rocket will be: Lit Lounge, 9pm.

Come on, it'll be fun. You'll get to hear what Paper Valentines and Shiny Dark Bar sound like live. (HINT: WE WOULD EPICALLY FAIL THE GAME)

Probably because you keep changing how you play the songs because you are ROCK STARS

This is also the preferred way of expressing the thought, "cannot play the same way twice."
