I don't know if this is something of which I should be deeply ashamed, but I used to watch The People's Court a ton back when he was the judge. Like, every day. And without waxing too political, I do appreciate most all that he stood for in his life. RIP.

I was just reading about him early yesterday, as there's a documentary about him that's opening today. I hadn't thought about him in years before that. Somehow I had totally forgotten that he was on The People's Court! Yes, watching him in any context made it clear pretty quicky what a charismatic character he was.
