EDIT: Just to clarify, I'm referring to the upcoming Steambox for the TV, not so much for the ability to play RB on your laptop on the bus.
Okay I don't pretend to be an expert on the gaming industry. However, maybe this should be a poll. I'm curious myself to hear others chime in more than anything.
With all this talk of RB on (or not on) next gen consoles, I thought maybe a better move might be to either Android/OUYA or PC/Steambox with DRM. Then you could potentially mix and match USB dongles from X-BOX and PS3 guitars, drums, competing games, etc. It could also open up some more midi possibilities or allow people to use QUERTY keyboards for guitars.
If the RB3/4 ported game came with enough content, I might not feel too badly about re-buying a lot of stuff, though of course I'd still like a path to RB DLC citizenship from PS3.
I know people see the tide shifting against RB. However, for my daughter's B-Day party I can tell you what everyone wanted to play. It was next to impossible to kick the kids off so the adults could play a little.
I also still meet people who haven't played the game or would still like to get into it, but can't get the toys.
I feel like one of these types of upgradeable platforms with some DRM built-in could give this franchise a shot in the arm.
Thoughts?
