is there a rockband 4 in the works

Speculate all you want about NDA's and backwards compatibility, but the real thing going against Rock Band 4 is that Harmonix flat-out said they're not making it.

They didn't.

They said things that can lead you to that conclusion, or, we can assume that it's typical marketing/legal weasel speak they are required to engage in. Just because it might not come out this year doesn't mean it won't, that an outsourcing company isn't handling it, or something else

They never say never, but they have said they're not working on it now, which is what the original post asked. And yes, that includes co-developing the game with other studios. There's no reason to believe that another developer would take over the series with NO involvement from Harmonix.

i really wish for a RB4... i just played RB2 and i just bought L:RB and i have to say i love both of them. I don't know why but i think the mechanics, feel and atmosphere is much more better and well done than RB3

IF they are making a RB4, i wish it'll be the same as RB2

i have to agree i loved the mechanics on RB2, however as a left handed drummer i have to say, i just cant play it much because not having a red cymbal is just not cool. Seriouslys till dont understand why a patch couldnt of been done to address that issue.

After seeing every other week of DLC switching over to Blitz songs, not only is it not in the works, but it may be approaching the end of that pipeline too... key word MAY, i hope not, but sometimes all good things come to an end.

There is not a RB4 in the works now(as so many have said now...) but I think there will be a RB4 someday, but maybe faaaaaar away in the future...

If EA and Harmonix get enough pressure from the fans of RB then it could be made. SimCity "5" is being made after 10 years of nothing. Its being made due to a large fan base and how that fan base kept SimCity 4 alive through mods and UGC. Also the market for Rhythm games has cooled down and now would be a good time as the only rhythm game out there right now is the Rocksmith game and I believe that game is a PS3 only.
