    Guitar Hero carry-overs.

I noticed a few people complaining about them in a past topic. Of coarse, I'm talking about the songs in Rock Band that were in Guitar Hero first. Like for example, Rock Band has...

    Mississippi Queen by Mountain
    Sabotage by Beastie Boyz
When You Were Young by The Killers
    Reptilia by The Strokes
    Paranoid by Black Sabbath
    Cherub Rock by Smashing Pumpkins

Which were all in Guitar Hero 3. And that's only the in-game songs. I hear you can also download Kool Thing, 3s and 7s, and Number Of The Beast as well. Rock Band 2 is even worse in this regard with...

Ramblin' Man by The Allman Brothers
One Way Or Another by Blondie
Livin' On A Prayer by Bon Jovi
Feel The Pain by Dinosaur Jr.
Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac
    Everlong by Foo Fighters
    Mountain Song by Jane's Addiction
The Middle by Jimmy Eat World
    Our Truth by Lacuna Coil
    Float On by Modest Mouse
    Lazy Eye by Silversun Pickups
    Today by Smashing Pumpkins
Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor
American Woman by The Guess Who

...All from Guitar Hero World Tour (As well as Down With Sickness by Disturbed which was in Guitar Hero 3). Frankly, it's not that big of a deal to me as long as there's plenty of obscure indie music, but what do you think?
What do you mean "Is that Bibarel in my icon?" No it's not! Shut up! :P

I think it is fine and I do not think it bothers most people. I've seen people want songs specifically *because* they knew them from Guitar Hero.

(And a lot of those songs on that list are simply iconic songs that should end up in any music game)

Guitar Hero III and World Tour came out around the same time as Rock Band 1 and 2 (give or take a couple of months), so neither game "stole" from the other. Either the labels gave both games a lot of the same songs, or it's a coincidence.

As for DLC from years later... so what? Just having a song in my Rock Band library means it would get played a lot more than it would if I bought whatever Guitar Hero game it was in. If the Guitar Hero version is from a game before World Tour, I can't play it on bass, drums or vocals. If the Rock Band version is from Rock Band 3 and its DLC, it has keys and harmonies.

I don't care what's on what honestly... thought that argument was ridiculous.

I haven't seen rock_starman much lately, but I hope he sees this thread and throws the righteous fit I know he has in him. That would be high entertainment.

I like having all of my favorite songs from both series' in one game, and since I prefer Rock Band over Guitar Hero, I'm perfectly fine with HMX releasing repeats. Besides, stuff from GH1-3 didn't include drums, vocals, or keys.

Yep. I break out GH every now and then to play songs not in RB, but the more that RB gets the less reason I have to break out GH.

Now it's starting to seem like a chore to get GH set up to play the small amount (in comparison) of songs I want to play that isn't in RB. So in a perfect world RB would eventually just get all of them and I'd never have to switch discs again.

If you value the differing charting philosophies both games have than there are no "repeats" only new charts.

I think its great when a band works with these games. If they were cool enough to work with both series, even better.
