RB3 Keyboard not working on Wii U

I migrated all of my Wii data to my Wii U and it seemed like everything transferred correctly and I loaded up RB3 in Wii mode and it worked great. But in the middle of the second song, the keyboard stopped working and all four player lights on the keyboard lit up. I then tried turning the keyboard on and off again and the keyboard did nothing. The dongle connected to the Wii U kept blinking as usual. I've been able to repeat this numerous times and the same thing always happens around the same time. Has anyone else had this issue and does anyone know of a fix for it?

The USB ports and RB3 have been the source of many of the problems with the Wii. It is sad to hear that they are continuing to be a problem on the WiiU. Several suggestions that may help.

    1. Try fresh, non-rechargeable batteries to see if that makes a difference. My RB2 drums wouldn't work with rechargeables on the Wii.

    2. Try a different USB port.

    3. Try plugging in or removing other dongles from the other USB ports. Oddly, I get fewer problems with the Microphones if I have 2 plugged in instead of 1.

    4. Try a powered USB hub.

Good luck. Don't be surprised when this thread gets moved to the peer-to-peer support forum.

Agree with trying a USB hub. In my case, a non powered Philips 4 port I picked up cheap @ Target has worked fine. But I have heard the Wii can be twitchy w/ the USB add-ons, so I may have simply lucked out.

Does this also happen if you play the keyboard on the original Wii?

I play on WiiU with my keyboard all the time and have not had this issue at all. As a matter of fact, I have not had one USB related issue on the WiiU when I had them relatively frequently on the Wii until I got a powered hub. Have you tried what Dentata suggested and replace the batteries?
