Rock Band replacement drum pedal.

I have Rock Band. The drum pedal broke today, after 4.5 years.

What's a good replacement drum pedal? I've read some reviews online.

I've read good things about Rock Pedal. However, Rock Pedal v2 is sold out until sometime in 2013. I don't want to wait a few months, I just want to get back to playing assuming there's something that's about as good.

What about using a Rock Band 2 pedal? Is it better than the default Rock Band 1 pedal? It looks sturdier, and is only $40.

Also, it's annoying that I got the whole Rock Band Special Edition set for $180 I think, but that a drum pedal itself could cost $100.

I also wouldn't mind a whole new drum set entirely, but for now, I'll just focus on the drum pedal, as that's the only thing that's broken beyond repair. The rest of the drum set is still useable, just not in great condition, as the legs are cracked a little.

I have a RB2 stock kit, but I use a KP65 with a KickWire for my kick pedal, and it is wonderful. I'm actually using my RockPedal v1 for the pedal, but since it came with a beater, I am using the KP65/KickWire as the sensor instead of the sensor built in to the RockPedal.

I only have Rock Band 1, so I don't know if I need this. Is that big thing the sensor? How do you use it?

If it's the part of the pedal that moves up and down that snapped, 2 butter knives underneath it on each side, some wide Gorilla Tape, and some wide clear tape will work good till you get another pedal. Or you can just keep that one. I've been using mine like that for a couple years.

I used the clear tape to hold the butter knives in place (I wrapped it a few times). And the Gorilla tape for where the pedal snapped (Just two layers over it. I didn't wrap it all the way around). Gorilla tape is crazy strong.

If the base of the pedal is snapped/breaking too, just throw some of that G tape on it. That's what I did.

I have a DW 3000 with a Yamaha kick trigger KP-65 and it's fantastic.

My next upgrade will be to a Pintech kick trigger.

Yes, that is exactly what I have, except I purchased them separately instead of in a bundle. Basically, you connect the big pad thing to your drum pedal, and the beater for the pedal hits the big pad. When the big pad gets hit, the KickWire converts it into a signal that your Rock Band kit understands.

I guess the thing I forgot to explicitly mention is that you will need a real drum kick pedal to get it to work. It may be a little pricey, but it's worth it and it's extremely sturdy.

If you do decide to get the KickWire, make sure you get the right one for your kit.

This one has the option of a 1/4" jack for the IONs, or a 1/8" jack for the stock RB drums.

bad choice man. i bought one like 3 years ago and it has always had sensor issues. like a year ago i stopped messing with it all together. double hits all the time and the guy never replies to email. supposedly its warrantied but he just ignores the emails. the guy that does the rock pedal v2 (thats sold out) also doesn't reply to email.

so i have the original destroyer pedal. which has sensor issues and ultimately was a waste of money but i loved how efficient i could play with it. and hit double notes easily. it came with an attachable beater, which i have to find, but will that work with the kickwire and kp65 combo? it will be able to hit the pad at the right height and everything?

It's disappointing to hear that neither respond to emails. Customer service, with something like this, is important.
