As will I. Proudly, and without fear. They're still going strong.

• They took the initiative to get the rights back from a previous record label of every track on their first album, Motorcade of Generosity, so they can re-master and re-issue it on their own label - Upbeat Records (that's right, CAKE went from being major label to independent) - this fall, with exclusive video content...
• They have a new studio album due out later this year or early '09...
• They have a live album - Live at the Crystal Palace - that has seen many delays, but will probably be out by sometime next year...
• They are still touring as much as they ever have...

Yeah, I'd say CAKE is nowhere near finished serving us dessert.

Welcome to the forums! (Though, I see you're a rather long-time lurker. I'm just glad (read: gloating) this thread got your first post.) Your vote has been seen by me, but won't be updated to the original post anytime soon because I've been seriously slacking. I'm many pages behind.

That said, "Jolene" is my #1 most wanted song by CAKE, so I'm welcoming you to the forums twice as much now. "The Distance" is a pretty obvious choice, as people who don't even know CAKE often know that song. And "Commissioning a Symphony in C" is also a great pick. I can actually play that on bass while singing along!

So, your 3-pack in my opinion wins.

Also, I love how many first-time posters this thread has attracted. I swear, you're like the fifth person who joined the forums and posted here first. I'm pretty sure that's my favorite part. Such an awesome feeling.

Wow, I have to admit that having Cake in the game never even crossed my mind but it all makes so much sense! The Distance would be so awesome to play ingame.

As much as a fan as I am for Frank Sinatra, I suppose the song isn't really varied enough to fit, as awesome as it is. Oh and its shameful to say but I had only heard Fashion Nugget until I saw this post, and am happy to report im loving Comfort Eagle, I reckon that'd be an awesome song for the game too. Great idea man!

One of the most original bands ive ever heard. I believe his voice will be very easy to mimic for those who like singing but arent great. the solos are fantastic, and there is plenty of bass work for those who choose bass but are normally bored to tears.
