Yes, I do want CAKE in Rock Band.
No, I do not want CAKE in Rock Band.
I have never heard CAKE, so I do not know if I want them in Rock Band.
Other (Please post to elaborate.)
I checked out the thread out of curiosity, and listened to a few songs, and I really like it. They would be awesome in Rock Band. The songs have great basslines too. I am a bassist, so if a band has a good bassist I always respect them. I usually don't like most 90s+ alternative, but this band is great, and is actually different unlike most modern bands. I love the cover of I will survive.

MUSIC FASCIST
Yeah, the collective mass of CAKE fans are pretty irked right now. Here's the discussion on the CAKE Poll, in which John McCrea himself said:
...I know anyone could have posted that, but whether or not it was a member of CAKE, that's obviously how the band feels. The front page at cakemusic.com states:no one who doesn't already know cake is going to know it was our song. furthermore, we are totally ****ed off that no one even asked our permission to turn our song into a weird SUV commercial. two huge corporations just helped themselves to a chunk and no thought was given to the wishes of the musicians and/or writers.
Hopefully something will be done about this.CAKE feels completely violated by Ford and American Idol's decision to use our song in a bizarre and un-funny Ford car commercial without our permission.
EDIT: Interestingly, CAKE has removed that rant from their homepage. Were they given legal guidance to do so? Who knows.

CAKE & Modest Mouse DLC Threads
Wow, thank you!I'm more than happy to maintain this thread, especially with encouraging posts like yours. I'll add your choices soon.
Agreed! I really hope so, too. I also really hope that CAKE themselves are for it.
Great choice! Thanks for the vote.
That's awesome! I'm glad this thread - and CAKE - caught your interest! Thanks for posting.![]()

Man I would totally dig playing "Comfort Eagle" and "I Will Survive"
Me, too. What do you think about having "Arco Arena" as the intro to "Comfort Eagle"? That was suggested by sandswipe, who is a genius. It would be so much fun!![]()
CAKE & Modest Mouse DLC Threads
Arco Arena / Comfort Eagle would be fantastic. Decently long, and oozing awesome everywhere the whole time.
The PR transmissions will resume.
Since no one else seems to have done it yet, I thought it would be interesting to email cake, or whoever answers the most prominent email displayed on their web site. I typed up a summary of the game, and why it's a good deal for artists, because I don't read a lot of interviews so I don't know if they know much about video games. Here is what happened:
> I'm sure you're familiar with the Guitar Hero series, and have
> heard of the Guitar Hero effect. Nearly every single band that has

Thank you for the note John.
I appreciate your thoughts and efforts.
CAKE is not hesitant to get get involved. I have contacted Harmonix
Music Systems, and will continue doing so until we get someone's
attention.
Best,
TOMMY
ATTN HARMONIX: LISTEN TO TOMMY MANZI.
Also, those last few examples in my previous post were more "I'd buy it fast if it was released, but I'm not actually requesting it." Opera Singer is a fun song, but not their best.
I'd also like to apologize for not checking that email account in the last month. Oh well.
I am impressed by CAKE's great attitude when it comes to Rock Band. They are not like overpaid huge bands that want tons of money, or elitist alternative bands who think plastic guitars are silly.
I hope Harmonix includes them. They would be a much better choice than Serj Tankan or any of the crappy emo pop crap songs they've released. The thing about CAKE is that they are perfect for every instrument, very accessible and catchy, and their music is made to make music, not money.
Please Harmonix, they may have met you before, they may not have been judges in some rock band event, but they are really talented, and deserve a spot.
MUSIC FASCIST
Wait, so Cake actually replied to your email saying they contacted Harmonix?
