Of course, any Cake song would be a blast to play. Make it happen Harmonix! I posted a comment about them being in Rock Band on their Facebook page, it wouldn't hurt if the fans here would 'like' it, or comment as well.

Honestly, at this point, I'm content just waiting. Tommy had already been in contact with Harmonix long before any of us contacted him. Though he said one of four songs was under consideration to be included on-disc for Rock Band 2, for whatever we never saw it. Nor did we get one as the free 20 DLC tracks.

If Harmonix was considering a song for their sequel, I imagine we'll get some DLC. Eventually.

Anyway, enjoy your show, man. I finally saw them for the first time in May and it was easily the best concert/night of my life. (Probably because I got to go backstage and meet them after the show! I still don't believe that happened... )

Latest update: more a step backwards than anything.

I sent Tommy information about Rock Band Network yesterday. His reply was simply:

Thank you Paul. Honestly, I share your enthusiasm... unfortunately, the band does not.

Naturally, I asked him to elaborate. "Does this mean CAKE will never be in Rock Band?" and the like. His reply:

I would not say "never"... I will continue to work hard on trying to make this happen. I believe it is very important.

Wow. Well thats not a cheery message. I'm listening to Fashion Nugget for the billionth time on my iTunes, wishing I could Voxtar some of these songs right now...

I think Frank Sinatra has the most amount of plays in my entire library, 268 or something. It is sad news that CAKE isn't all that interested, especially considering this thread seems the most organised and seemed the most promising for upcoming DLC...

Believe me, no one is more devastated than I am. I really think it has something to do with Harmonix wanting "The Distance" over everything else, but that's just speculation. CAKE are not ones to 'give in' (hence Upbeat Records), so they probably just gave Harmonix the finger and went on their merry way. Apparently that picture at the top of the original post had a bit more foreshadowing than I imagined...

Oh, well. What can ya do?
