I'm from Michigan and I've lived in almost every part of the state. I don't really see too many emo kids, for some reason a lot of people in Michigan want to, for lack of a better term, "act black".

I'd almost rather have more emo's to be honest. At least they keep their problems to themselves and their blogs/myspace or whatever. Not breaking into my car to steal my CD's so they can buy weed.

Yeah ever since Eminem, Michigan is the place to be if you're white and you want to act black. (Sorry if that offends anyone, I know not all black people act like that)

They're basically Chav's, just without the name for 'em that we have from the sound of it... as that's exactly how they are here... Self obsessed ***** who think that they own everything, and thus can damage any property and "tough ****" if you don't like it... and if you say anything about it, expect a kicking.

My daughter is emo. I don't talk to her anymore. She is such an *******. I won't even go into it... I'm just waiting for her to "Grow up" and turn into a human.

Have you tried sitting down and nicely talking to her about it? If you have, put your foot down, tell her about actual depression, and make her wear normal clothes, and tell her to get her act together. If she does be nice to her so there is a reward for being good, and a punishment for being bad. What age is she and when did she become emo? If your her father there is a good chance to convert her. The emo fad is horrible, it's a fashion that tells people to be depressed. It preys on teenagers because of their lesser intelligence, tendency for cliques, and hormone crap shifting around (Although no excuse for emo, it is only slightly annoying and controllable)

She'll be 19 in a couple of months. I think she is clinacally depressed but the shrink we sent her to for a while refused to accept it, And likewise convinced her she could get on with life without anti-depressants. We used to figure it was the normal puberty/growing pains bull**** of being a teen, But am convinced it is much worse now.. Like I said, she is about all done growing. She came within inches of dying from a rare disorder affecting her spleen for about two weeks last summer and based on things she blogged about during that crisis we thought she was getting her head straight and was gonna get her **** together. But she moved into her garandparents (neither me or her mom will take her now) and they are effectively enabeling her to reamain a sloth loser with no plan in life. She is always crying about how her Momn hates her and I abandoned her and boo hoo. The fact is she has never faced adversity and has been given every opportunity you could imagine and ahe prefered to piss it all away.

She pisses me off cause I grew up poor.. Real poor. I've been on the streets for real at a couple of points in my life. I never got into any of the stereotypical traps that come with it. I worked hard and then harder to get to where I am. I got a big ass house, a couple of Harleys, SUV and a Caddilac. All the toys you could want.. Earned it all.. She just mooches and whines about how hard her life is and how it everyones fault but her own.

I'm not saying she dreeses emo that much or listenes to nothing but MCR and the like. But she does have the Emo attitude. I've done all that I can and gave up. Some things can only be fixed by the person in question.

I won't give age but I am younger than your daughter. I was emo and anti-social. Luckily looking back at the real **** not the crap I forced myself to ***** about made me realize I was damn lucky to be out of that rut.

It's life, it's this gen, and this world. I honestly believe it's a phase. Just **** every kid goes through.
