the bottom line here is that Herman Li randomly wacks away as a fretboard like it was a cheap whore. he isnt a virtuosso like countless other skilled guitarists in the genre and that Dragonforce is literally bottom of the barrel ****, even in their musical sub genre.

sorry, but defending Dragonforce is the heavy metal equivilant of defending Blink 182. they arent skilled, they're fast, no more, no less. I hate Dreamtheater but those dudes can all play circles around anyone, they just make crappy music. Dragonforce is comprised of a bunch of dudes who got fast, wrote a bunch of crappy songs and fools eat it up like dinner.

Slayer isn't the pinnacle of virtuosity, no question, and I don't think anyone would claim so. But at least what you hear on the album is what they can perform live. To me, especially in very technical genres like DragonForce falls into, overdubbing tracks is nearly as scandalous as say, Milli Vanilli.

um, Slayer are atrocious? since when? Kerry King is a horrible lead guitarist but Jeff Hanneman is an excellent guitar player. Dave Lombardo is a good drummer and Tom Araya is solid bassist, and considering the style he sings in hes also quite good at that. the falcetto's he pulls off are unreal.

as far as thrash metal goes Slayer and Megadeth are probably the two most talented in the genre, Megadeth being leaps and bounds over Slayer, of course.

DrafonForce are way to overrated and over-hyped... they don't put ot any quality music and I don't think they deserve their success... and it just shows how fake they are when they can't do half of their songs live which is like a joke imo... I went and saw Tool a little while back and every song they played was nearly identical to their album versions, that's how you can tell the difference between a good band and a crappy one

They are really good live, i'll give them that for sure.

Slayer is pretty good, Dragonforce is meh and was WAY overhyped on the GH forums.

I would put both Metallica(I don't believe in the existance of any albums after the black album) and Anthrax above Slayer, as far as thrash metal bands go.
