New DLC Week of 2/05/08

So, I'm kinda pissed. I was just playing the drums, waiting for this week's DLC to hit the Marketplace. Can you guess what happened? Yeah! My bass pedal broke. AGAIN.

Only this time, it didn't develop a crack in the middle, right be the spring. No, I had a fix in place to keep that from happening. But I guess if these things wanna break, they're gonna break. The plastic snapped right at the base and off the medal bar. I'm afraid that not even duct tape can fix this one.

So now I'm off to fill out yet another RMA. So much for playing these songs in 20 minutes. On drums, anyway.

WEAK!!!! I don't know what alot of u guys are talking about, this game needs some more catchy songs that drunken girls at my house can recognize, sing a long to, then sleep with me afterwards. No drunken whore wants to sing a ****ty Kiss or Faith No More song.

I hate it when people make the "learn to play a real instrument comment" but if your trying to get laid a real guitar would be a much better way to go. Not referring to them a whores might also help.

I like the variety to pick and choose
I kinda think the only reason some songs that are more well known
like from kiss and other bands that are on guitar hero are not
for dlc at this time cause they might feel its already on a gm and
people would not get it. Thats just my thought but ya never know.
Just the fact that there is been 3 dlc each week makes me not
worry. Im sure that there will be songs that I would love to see as
anyone else would. Just takes time. Though I would like to hear some
word from Harmonix about the Who and Greatful Dead cds. Was
and have been waiting for those. Never know maybe come Easter or
Summer we may get a big ruch of Popular songs, eventhough I want it
now, I think that would be cool.....Hint Hint Harmonix

There is a video on the RB disc about why they choose the songs they do.

yes, well they talk mainly about choosing the stuff for the disc. They don't talk at all about the licensing issues. I am sure they are holding off on the premium content until they get get the install base up / see a slump in DLC downloads/ need to compete with another game (like GH4).

I am just sayn' they are not going to have a video on the disk that shows bunch of EA suits talking about maximizing profits.

Hopefully we have to wait too long before the MBAs let the game guys release the good stuff. Fortunately the Harmonix guys have pretty good taste and have done a good job pulling some cool stuff out of the bargain bin. But it's not like the all sat around and voted on this weeks DLC and Faith No More edged out Led Zepplin.

Every week I check out this board for new DLC. Some weeks I buy one song, some times I buy none. What I do not do is come on hear and whine about the lack of music I like. I for one am ecstatic that there is another Faith No More song, as is the rest of our band, which has two female members. We have waited since the game was released for more Faith No More songs.

My point here is that just because you do not like a song, does not mean (A) the song will not sell (B) It is not liked by others (C) Your opinion will change the coming weeks DLC.

No this game is not played by just kids. The youngest member that plays with us is 24, the oldest being 30. We think the mix of music is great. Some songs we love, some we do not, but we accept the fact they are in the game and we choose to play them, get better at them, have a few beers and have a great time versus filling up a message boards with complaints about someones decision to release songs we do not like.

I would love to see 1 metal song a week. Something nice and challenging like the Metallica pack. Maybe some Faith No More, Godsmack, Tool, etc. Either way I will not whine online about it.

78% Dislike this weeks songs because they have poor taste in music and are afraid of changing their taste.

17% Like this weeks songs because they don't need AAA name artists to be happy.

5% Are neutral or undecided because they are in the process of broadening their taste.
