Thanks again Harmonix! You guys are awesome for releasing so many quality tunes for all of us to choose from. While I do agree with some in saying that this week's content is not the strongest offering thus far, I will still download all of them, like I always do. Many of us have found out in the past, that songs we perhaps don't enjoy listening to, translate into being extremely fun to play...so every song deserves a fair chance in that respect.

Oh, and just as a quick request for more Kiss...I'd love to see Black Diamond, God of Thunder, and War Machine please and thank you.

March Dlc Not Set In Stone Yet!

I laugh at every single one of you who continue to ***** and complain about this week's DLC AND about the "March DLC." I can't believe people are still complaining about that since last week, geez!

I've been trying to direct everyone to this in hopes that this madness of rumors will stop so we can talk about something else already...

    From HMXJohnlok himself:

"You may have seen the following attributed to a "…spokesperson from MTV Games / Harmonix," as our official press comment:

"The calendar of Rock Band DLC for March 2007 printed in the latest
issue of OXM is a tentative schedule and subject to change. Please stay
tuned for confirmation of Rock Band DLC closer to their release."

To give you a bit of additional insight: our DLC schedule is tentative for a number of reasons. As we've noted before on the forums, there are a lot of moving parts to get into place before we're ready to mix, author, animate and submit songs to be certified. Each stage in the process can have its kinks that can delay tracks from week to week for a myriad of reasons.

With all of these factors in play, we try to wait until we're absolutely sure that a track is good to go before we spread the good word amongst the forums. While the schedule released by OXM includes a variety of tracks that are currently being worked on by our development team, we need to remind everyone that our internal list can and will change (daily even) until the songs are certed and approved by Sony and Microsoft. Unless you hear it here from a member of the HMX community team (myself, Sean, HMXJohnD), assume that things are unconfirmed rumors.

We're committed to putting out really well done tracks that everyone can enjoy. Keep an eye on the forums for updates and we'll let you know what tracks are coming out as soon as it's possible. We'll be sticking to a weekly update in the coming month, so check back on Monday!"

    Ehh.

I don't really see what everyone's complaining about, it's three great songs (Master tracks no less) by three great bands. Sure, Rock Lobster woulda topped Roam anyday in most people's minds, but who cares? The mere fact that they gave us The B-52's is good enough for me, and they'll most likely give us Rock Lobster later on down the road. And personally I would have preferred Digging The Grave or Midlife Crisis from Faith No More, but We Care A Lot is still a good song by them. People should just quit their bellyaching and be happy for once.
Wanna play online? I've got...a lot of DLC. I dunno. 1400 or something. I'm too lazy to count.

Roam is when the B-52's got all commercial and top 40 after Love Shack put them in the mainstream. I love them, and I love that you're including them, but come on.... pick some of their quality stuff, not this bubble gum crap.
So... If HMX releases obscure songs from groups, the hardcore fans are pleased but everyone else complains/notes that they don't actually know the songs and call for more mainstream action... But if HMX releases the popular, well-known music, they're slammed instead for going for the "commercial" and sell-out music?

Yet another example that you can't please everyone no matter what you pick.

Roam is a good song. What people need to learn is to ask themselves the proper question with regard to DLC. "Would I buy this song for the price?" is the question you need to ask. "Could they have used a better song?" is the wrong question. If you feel that for your $1.99, only the "quality", non-"bubble gum crap" songs will do, then don't download this.
Telling people online how wrong they are since 1990.

Roam is a definite hit. Thanks for adding songs that will be more widely recognized by the more "casual" audience. These are needed for the RB parties.

I'll probably also check out the other two as well.

You know, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the target audience is probably people in their mid twenties through late thirties, which probably coincides with the makeup of the HMX office. Oh, and comprises the chunk of the population that's A. likely to be gaming and B. likely to have the money to purchase a sizable amount of DLC.
    Just a thought.
