HMX needs to get one of the guys to take a day off and pluck some volunteer moderators out of the community - people who have been here for a while, have a certain postcount, and generally are not jackasses.

The best forums I have been on are the best policed ones.

That is not what I'm saying. My point is this: People will complain about whatever features the PS3 lacks or what have you, and that's understandable. But the point is that it's annoying to go every day with more than one person posting a new thread about the same thing over and over again. And it does not do any well to continue to blame Harmonix for something that is not their responsibility and out of their hands (e.g. voice chat). Go complain to SONY for that.

put bury the hatchet on this again or put out more maiden or a slayer pack MORE METAL...Metallica was ok but they get old and fast
This is what I'm talking about. Provides NO contribution whatsoever to the topic at hand and goes on to request something simply because a Harmonix employee started this thread. I have nothing against someone requesting what they want, but when it's done randomly and contributes nothing to the topic, it commences posts that eventually go on to be useless arguments, which completely makes a thread go off topic.

And here we go AGAIN with a NEW thread about the March DLC, which has been discussed to death about 3 weeks ago. Now, what's the problem here? It's a relatively new member (the guy only has 15 posts) and there was no way of him knowing that it was already discussed. I didn't even reach the end of the first page without seeing the thread already jump to a musical taste flame war simply cuz ONE guy said "'so-and-so' sucks!" despite that the whole list is STILL NOT CONFIRMED.

If people want to ***** about something, by all means do it. But it's difficult to stay together as a community when all we do is *****, and especially when we just argued and *****ed about something earlier in the week and here we are biting each others heads off over the SAME THING OVER AND OVER... I already get bored with the week at work already feeling like a routine... I don't want those kinds of things to be the norm in these forums, which I love!

    i agree...

i think hiring some moderators would do wonders for this community.

like IHMHI said, the best forums are the best policed ones.

    Cool

I think 3rd party sales of any kind should be removed from the postings and the user given 1 second chance. If it's done again, he should be removed from the forums all together. I see way too many mods for the game on these forums.

There should be place for it, some of these products are nice to know about but it needs to stay out of general discussion. There should be a "void your warrenty" forum where the mods and stuff go.

I love the board, but (I'm not sure if you can help this) I think the downloadable content should always be posted on the same day, instead of it being announced for the next week but when next week comes along, nothing.

How to make this a better forum:

1 - Ban people who post insults or get into pissing contests. Fine, you have an opinion; you can post it without attacking someone else. If you can't, you get a warning..... if you continue, then bye bye

2 - Have a forum for discussion of the latest guitar quieting mod, or the rubber-foam-felt-polar bear skin-whatever drum covers are the mod du jour. Make the sellers of those items post only in that forum so the rest of us don't get spammed every time we browse the general game forum.

3 - Give us some general information about album downloads. They were announced long before the game came out and a simple "sometime this spring," would be a whole lot better than saying nothing at all.

Quite new to the forum but from my perspective this game will always polarise views because musical taste is very individual. I dont understand people who get very upset and angry when the DLC for a certain week doesn't appeal to them. This game is made for a wide audience and the content should cross the spectrum of music not just heavy rock or metal. In my opinion Guitar Hero had too much of the same music.

I would hate to see HMX move away from the current policy regarding the DLC.

On the whole though the board is a generally friendly place, think the ultimate setlist board is a bit of a nightmare, posted a thread requesting a track and within a few hours it was on page four and burried forever.

I totally agree with that. Hi all, I just got RB a week ago and am addicted and now I am really excited to have found this forum.

I know everyone is pumped for this great game, but we all need to understand your musical tastes are not the only ones out there. Rock Band is first about having fun with friends, whether they be online on rocking out in your basement.

I am very happy to see a wide range of downloadable tracks popping up including some bands I have never heard of, but now am starting to listen to. I loved the inclusion of "Roam" by the B-52's this week. I remember that song coming out when I was a kid ! Rock Band appeals to an incredibly wide range of people and musical tastes and we all need to remember that. Absolutely everything from Megadeth to Britney Spears and My Chem Rom. should be included. (remember, the Emover hair style wasn't included for no reason). I enjoy rocking out with my friends, but sometimes it would also be fun to croon along with "Hit Me Baby 1 More Time", have a good laugh and then go back to screaming along with Nine Inch Nails and Metallica.

Rock Band is about the diversity of all music out there and just having fun with your friends.

I just want to say thanks to Harmonix for working so hard over the last 10 years to put out these great rhythm games which have lead to Rock Band and now this great community of gamers.
-Finally Picked up RB on Feb 2/08. -Band Name: Cinnamon Swallow (just youtube it)
-Most wanted song: Money Honey, State of Shock. -How about REM, End of the World?
