I expected him to play something pretty easy. He puts on Enter Sandman. Crushed that song with a 97%. He was practicing all day long since he did not have school.

Hah, Enter Sandman is actually one of the easier expert songs as soon as you get the beat.

Anyway, it's still great you got your son a Drum Set though (I'm aiming to get one for my birthday coming up soon, how Much is the drumset you got him?)

The "Official discussion topic for DLC week of suchandsuch" will work well. I like that idea. When I'm at school, I like to go to the site and bam, info learned, not click on it and get sent to a random comment which usually happens. Also, 42 pages of "THIS DLC ROX/SUX" isn't needed in the announcement either.

Pinned "we want this band" threads are a good idea. Or, "official" ones.

Overall, damn good job you're doing.

Look this week is a perfect example. They select the B-52's but pick one of the more obscure songs. Roam is not bad but when the could have chose any of the more popular B-52 songs they dont.

Actually, Roam shares the distinction with Love Shack of being the B-52s highest charting song (both hit #3).

It may not be *exactly* what you're looking for as far as, "hey we had a vote and decided this was what we were going to select," but it should be able to provide some context, and hopefully some cool information, about each week's songs!

Thanks John, I had no idea that existed as well. While as you stated its not quite as mentioned, it is a very nice touch and adds good background to the dlc choice. Thanks!

I'm sure more people know B-52s for Love Shack rather then Roam.

I think it would be cool to know which bands were not interested in being a part of Rock Band. That way we could go to that bands message board and maybe as fans get them reverse their opinion. I doubt you would want to do that, but if they aren't going for it now what is it going to hurt?

I had this exact same thought! This would probably only work in cases where bands have flat out refused to license as opposed to ongoing negotiations, but if the band knew a large part of their fan base was bugging them to include their music it might make a difference. Knowing the corporate world, this is probably an impossibility but anything we can do to help bring bands in would be great...

Yeah it might be easy for someone who is good at Drums... I am not
As far as the Drum Kit. I think it retails for between 600 - 700 Bucks but I was able to get it a bit cheaper for $525.00 at the drum shop since my son was taking lessons there. It costs me 80 bucks a month for his lessons. SO yeah they are making out.

But I have never seen him as passionate about something as he is about playing the drums. He will be starting snare drum with the school band next year as well. Hopefully as much as he loves to play, he will make it in a band later in life.
