    Worst Live Bands?

I was just wondering if any of us have experienced a truly horrific concert, especially one they weren't expecting. Has anyone ever come away from a show thinking "I was expecting more" or just "Wow, that was garbage?" If so, post your experience here.

The Cult always springs to mind first whenever I get asked this question. Saw them twice, once on the Electric tour then again on the Sonic Temple tour. Both times they were terrible. I'd never see 'em again.

Motley Crue can be real hit or miss depending on Vince Neil.

Guns n' Roses could be hit or miss as well. When they were good they were f'ing amazing. When they weren't it was abysmal.

Jet was pretty bad to the point where they sounded like they didn't know how to play.
I think they were extremely drunk, but that is no excuse in my opinion.
Good thing I didn't really care about seeing them anyway.

I've never seen em, but Kiss had to fake a live album (put crowd noise over studio recordings), so I suppose they're pretty bad
"Music Band"? I'll pick it up right after I get through "Fighting Men" and "Shooting People". - Kiggidykev

    LOL.
We saw them with Breaking Benjamin, and Adam asked the crowd to sing along with some song, and when they didn't he yelled at us "You ****ing suck!"... I think they were projecting.

The worst show I ever saw was the Doors. Morrison was just unbelievably stoned. jams were long and boring. We didn't leave but we should have. I was with a group of about 20 and the feeling was unanimous.

I have also relayed on the Concert Stories thread how at one show I was at the Who were so outperformed most of the audience left well before their act finished, and how my buddies almost didn't take me (I was too young to drive) to the first Cream concert I ever saw because they had gone on the first night and the band had completely sucked.

I think any bands that do a lot of improvising/jamming are susceptible to really bad nights -- I certainly saw enough boring Dead shows. The flip side is when the magic is there it's transcendent.

The Strokes. Oh God, it was horrible. The lead singer was drunk off his ass and fell into the "pit" (if you could call it that.) and couldn't get out. The band had to keep playing until he got back on stage, which also took like, 6 minutes. The fans were holding him down and all he could was yell. It was sad...I wasted money on them when I could have seen the Darkness instead.
Album wish list: Black Sabbath, Queen II, Static Age, Ride the Lightning, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
