For me it was a war of attrition. First GH1 was released, and I read a number of glowing reviews, but the idea just sounded kind of childish, playing a little plastic toy guitar?! Then Penny Arcade kept going on about how wonderful it was. Then GH2 was released, and got even better reviews. So I finally thought, what the hell, I've got to check out what all this fuss is about. So, I bought GH2, and just a week later I also bought GH1, because I was already addicted.

Yeah, this is funny. I picked up GH when it first came out. Everyone had a hard time accepting that I was playing a game with a plastic guitar. Yet Almost three yeas later, they are as addicted almost as bad as I.

i started playing at the beginning of last summer. i had been out of town so some friends were throwing a party for me and one of them had GH1. Nobody played it at first but later (once everyone was...let's say more relaxed) someone turned it on to see what it was and he started dancing around and acting crazy. So after watching the show he put on, everyone tried to out perform the others. after that night i had to have it.

When GH2 came out i skipped school to go buy it and skipped a few days after to beat it.

Guitar Hero (and my discovery of The Fall of Troy) actually led me into playin real guitar.

i'm really excited for both GH3 and Rock Band and i'm anxious to play the drums. maybe if i get good enough at the drums in RB then i'll try to pick that up in real life too.

I think the idea has always been there subconsciously, Frequency had the same idea but it was just you the one player playing all the parts and switching. The reason why the idea is so appealing is simple. Playing an instrument together with other people, making music from nothing, is an AMAZING experience!

It's something everyone should experience in their life. For me creating music is the biggest rush I can get. Yup, even more than that :P

Music can change the world. That fact has been lost in recent years. I have hopes that this franchise and genre will change that.
