Thread: Warning

    Warning

This may be a coincidence but thought I'd put it out there just in case:

I had to contact the support site yesterday to get a replacement guitar sent since my strum bar stopped working correctly. I opted for the express method, which requires a credit card entry, since I want to speed up the process. Everything went very smoothly with the site. HOWEVER, this morning I was contacted by my bank wanting verification of a number of purchases that were made to the card yesterday AFTER the charge from EA (that I did NOT make). Somebody got my credit card info and attempted to make over $400 worth of purchases somewhere in India. The only use of this card in months was yesterday from the site (the site DID show a secure padlock) to process the express return option. Not saying that they got it from the EA site, BUT all the charges started appearing only a few hours after I made the transaction here. Be careful with your card!!!!

My place of business has been getting a lot of calls about this surprisingly. They are getting charges from a company called iconnecthere, well, our company runs a service for businesses that is close to the same spelling... so they call US asking why we charged them (which we obviously arent considering we only deal with businesses).

It seems they do it in gradual amounts, 300, then 200, then 100, then 50. Contact your bank and tell them they are fraudulant charges, they will most likely take them off completely and send you a new card.

Check your computer for spyware/viruses/worms/all the usual bad stuff. It's possible the EA site doesn't have any problems, but the card info was stolen just because you entered in on an infected computer.
