Yes. 2 weeks ago, after 2 months of haggling with my wife, lurking on craiglist, and researching options I finally got me some Roland electronic "v-drums":

Guitar Hero initially tempted me with the idea of learning guitar, as playing the toy version for too long smacks too much of "I wasted my life!". But in my heart I didn't think I had the commitment to try and learn it. The rock band came out and I got a taste of drumming and liked it a lot.

I've actually been learning for the 2 months with whatever drum-substitutes I can get my hands on. Purchases included a music stand, practice book, practice pad, practice pad stand (so I could use the practice pad as a hi-hat stand in), drummers throne, metronome, sticks, you name it. It was getting expensive before I even got the drums!

Oh, and I've also started drum lessons since a couple of weeks ago. the self-teaching thing was going fine, but the pointers from the lessons are kinda handy.

Things are turning full circle now. I'm failing to break out of Hard mode on Rock Band drums because I'm dedicating most of my spare time to real drums now. Of course eventually my real drum exercises will help me with that, but they're less about speed and more about control at the moment...

    But I ramble

I already own a few guitars and a bass. However, I'm not that great. I've been keeping rank in the 130s for drums on the PS3 leaderboard and I think it's a blast. I am considering purchasing an electric kit at some point to make my own beats. Then maybe I can throw some of my own guitar/bass tracks over it, or find some people to jam with. I'm excited. Drums rock!

Other than fooling around with a guitar (can only do rhythm strumming, never could do any type of arpeggio (etc) pattern reliabily).

Thanks to Rock Band, I've gotten really into the idea of a drum set. I've been eyeing an electronic drum set at my local music store.

I'll probably end up getting it by the end of this year.

I took drum lessons for about a year when I was a kid, but I wasn't really into music at the time. Plus it was something that my parents kind of forced me to do, which didn't help.

At any rate, ever since I really started getting into music (when I was about 13 or 14) I ahve been kicking myself for not sticking with it. Now many years later, Rock Band has inspired me to pick up the drums again.

I used to have a full kit, but I sold it, so I'll just have to go get a new one. Until then though, I picked up a practice pad and some snare drum rudiments books to brush up on paradiddles and all that.

I may or may not take lessons again. I have a couple buddies that are great drummers, so I might see if they'd give me some pointers.

I was already decent on drums and guitar.

When I used to go to a friends house, playing guitar hero turned into both of us trying to learn the guitar parts on real guitars of some of the songs.

I think it(RB) pushed me into buying a bass though. It's a dean metalman v, pretty decent. I'm starting over though which is kind of annoying but, bass and guitar are two totally different beasts lol.

I might get some lessons, but around here it's severely expensive and rare to find someone with thorough knowledge of the bass that doesn't focus solely on "METAL!!!". lol But hopefully I can find someone, because there are plenty of bands out there that need a bassist.

I'm in this same camp. I got an electric when I was 13 but didnt have the patience to learn it (which i kick myself for daily). I am looking into getting a guitar soon. I have some good friends in the music industry helping me out.

it has influenced me alot, i mean, before i wanted to learn to play bass, but now i want to even more. also since i saw this video of one guy 4 finger picking and it was nuts, i want to learn how to do that, itd prolly take years of practice lol. especially since im more of a rythm guy, so drums/bass would most likely be what id play.

and i also want to buy an acoustic guitar, a nice one, just to mess around with it and make stupid songs like Tenacious D or something.

I've been playing guitar for about 5 or 6 years. But rockband has influenced me to learn the drums, my friends has a set he doesn't play much, so I'm taking them home and off to learning! I've been learning how to play a bit when I go over there and we jam a little bit. But next semester I'm beginning piano and beginning guitar to help out my gpa! But I'm really excited about teaching myself drums. I'm not too big on the whole taking lessons thing, I taught myself to play guitar, and now I'm pretty good, so I figure drums can't be that hard! Rockband has already helped me out with my main problem which is the whole foot and arms doing different things! lol.

I always wanted to learn how to play the drums, but my ex-wife would never let me get a kit. I even saved up my own money, but just got hell for even thinking about getting a set.

Well, now that she is out of my life, my best friend's brother sold me a 5 piece kit and I picked up the rest. I started playing them before RB came out, but this game has accelerated my interest. Nothing like trying to play a rythym from the game and adding in some complexity with the hi-hat. My kit is made by Premier and the cymbals are by Paiste.
