    Microphone Peripheral

    Several questions

1- Can we just use a normal headset, like one we'd jack into the guitar like 360 X-Plorer? When I play live my ideal is wireleass guitar and a wireless headset and a "prop" mic on a stand for effect, and if I want to sing and play at the same time, it's easier, plu easier on the wallet

2- the official mic, will it come with, or at least fit into a standard mic stand? That was always my big sadness with karaoke revolution, part of the rock is in the stand.

headset= Nsync, Britney Spears + a bunch of other really bad, unnecessary pop bands.

    mic = rock music.

i would really be surprised if there was no micstand on that sucker.

Headset=Freedom to move, play, and sing at the same time. Garth Brooks uses one, though he's obviously not rock.

Do you perform live with a dynamic act? Because I do, and when you're the only male vocalist for a band that does both male and female songs that are fast paced, you don't want to be tied down.

I ask about the headset also because i already have one, and therefore if I can't afford the "band pack", I can just jack that in

consider many of the incredibly theatric Metal Acts that are out there, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Hammerfall, and the like. they use thier whole stage AND they have a Mic instead of a headset.

also take into consideration that chances are your not gonna be performing live in this game like you do with your real band. your either gonna be stationarily standing (or if your like me sittin on your butt in the living room) singing.

granted they have not made any official annoucements, but i do believe that all the periphreals are purchasable as standalones, so that you can buy them one by one as you can afford them (if you allready have GH guitars that knocks out about half the price right there)

Another question with mics, and this to the singers out there.. is there any particular brand/style of mic you'd like to see them replicate for RB.. or is any old crap alright?

Personally, I'm quite fond of those old steel "grill" (i dunno what else to call it) style mics that you can grip around the head.. I dunno exactly how rock or praticle they are though

Yeah, the old honeycomb style would rock!

    Hopefully

hopefully it wont be expensive. plus it better have some greedy way to set off star power that would be cool.

i agree that a headset would be really girly, not rock band like. i dont think it is that big of a deal to just adjust the mic to where you can sing and play at the same time.

One question. Do you think people will really buy the game with just the mic. I think that would be silly.

actually i can see that very easily, and for one reason alone.

the songs that have been in GH (and probably will be in RB as well) are songs that are actually worth learning to play/sing to.

Yep. I already have the GHII guitar, and have no desire to play the bass or drums right now. So it'll just be the mic for me.

Singing ain't my bag, but it would be pretty cool do sing and play the bass or guitar at the same time. We're gonna need those N'Sync headsets
