DLC Patch Notes - 2/26/08

I'm not nearly as worked up as you or some of the people in that other thread. I don't think we PS3 users are necessarily "red-headed stepchildren." We might be more like the middle child. We're the Jan Brady of the RB community It's still a great game with great content, we just don't get as much as the 360 folks. But it's really not that much. The guitar issue will be fixed soon enough, which is all I really care about. In the grand scheme of things, I couldn't care less about having to tell some 13-year old with no DLC I'm playing with online that I don't want to play Dani California again, or that I can't find the Police under "Pop Rock." Now, if XBox had online BWT and we didn't, I would be pissed. But the rest of this stuff is just mildly annoying, and actually kind of entertaining when you start dissecting the larger pattern of neglect.

But a boycott? Meh. I love RB. I just wish I could have what Marcia has. Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!

I understand that voice isn't for everyone.. But this is one of them features you don't realise what your missing until you use it.. I have two buddies that come over periodically to play RB, Eye of Judgement, and Tekken5.. But sometimes we play online instead.. When we play online, EoJ and Tekken5 is just as fun as local play since it's like they are right here.. But, RB becomes boring.. We can't joke with each other in between songs.. We can't suggest songs to each other.. We can't razz each other when someone has trouble with a section of the song.. We can't tell each other when we want to switch instruments. It's basically the same as if I was just playing against a computer AI..

Anyway, almost 2 weeks now without a fixed patch.. Yay... Has anyone gotten the redownloaded Police to work yet?

I just tried yesterday. Neither the Police Pack nor the Limelight fix worked for me.

I have PS3. Just tried Police Pack again. Still no update. I Guess its never coming.

As I've said a few times already, that QA guy is one special dude… He's the only one that actually got the patch to work… Amazing…

Now, who wants to guess that all he did was call some PSN tech support dude and asked if the patch was now available without actually doing anything? Actually, now I wonder if the patch ever worked. That PSN tech dude probably is telling the truth saying the file is now up. Maybe it just doesn't work… Based on everything I see on the forums, the entire Harmonix team seems to use xbox… I would love to yank the xbox from every one of them and force them to play the PS3 version exclusively… I bet things would change then… *sigh*

This is depressing… If Harmonix would have played their cards right with the PS3, they would have OWN'd Activision. But once you alienate a group of people, you never totally regroup from it as they lost many potential PS3 sales to Activision..

There's the answer to why the patch hasn't been allowed in the first place possibly kinda sorta, I'd be interested in knowing if there are any ties between nyko and activision. hhhmmmmmm?

Actually, Antcommando's releasing a RB/GH compatible guitar next month so I don't believe there's anything to this conspiracy. I'm thinking the patch will be magically released after 3rd party controllers hit the market though. Personally I refuse to buy either a RB or GH guitar again. Why bolster their profits when they won't work with the consumer? I don't care who blames who, we're the only losers in this pissing contest......

Nice, still no answer for fixing the issue I see.. PS3 still isn't even important enough for something as small as a song patch?

Anyway, the bias continues.. It's sad that us PS3 users have to resort to this or make threads like this.. Of course, threads like the later ends up in a fanboy fight causing it to fall into chaos..

Curious, has anyone seen Harmonix advertise the PS3 version at all? I mean, even at the play.com Live which is a region where the PS3 has matched or beat xbox weekly sales for over 6 months now, they were still only marketing the xbox version..

Come on Harmonix, us PS3 customers are not asking for exclusive features.. We just are tired of being left out of some of the basic features. Anyway lets recap..

• No chat (text or voice) support during online play. (xbox fanboys will blame Sony, but smart people know better)
• Guitar Compatibility Issues. (ie, causing thousands of PS3 customers to buy the stand alone game only to find out they had no instrument to even play it)
• Can't even come through on a simple patch to fix a couple songs.
• Only displaying the xbox version at events. (ie, pushing the xbox version over the PS3 version.)
• Hosting xbox only development gaming sessions. (ie, showing only xbox customers the love.)

All this bias to one console makes one lead to the conclusion that someone is paying someone off. When will you get it through those thick skulls that each day you sit on your butt, you loose more and more PS3 customers.. Each PS3 customer you loose with RB only multiplies with later software releases as they like me have lost trust.. Of course, once there are about the same number of PS3s out there as xbox, I bet we suddenly get more attention.. This from a company that claims to put the customer first, but as any other company, money talks.

Has anybody purchased the patched tracks (for PS3) since the patch was released? I'd be curious to know if people who buy the tracks fresh get the patched versions.

(If they do, I fear this might be a Sony problem, not a Harmonix problem.)

Yeah, I said earlier in this thread that I bought Limelight after the patch, and it worked like it should. I bought the Police Pack before the patch, and it doesn't.

Has anybody deleted the DLC off their hard drive and tried redownloading?

Any chance The Kill will be sold at 80 points again? I missed them the 1st time around
