As seen below your post, yes. But remember, this...

    Thanks!
John tells us their QA guys specifically tested this patch.. I mean, Harmonix's PS3 QA guys have a great track record for quality. *cough* They wouldn't dare forget to test this patch with a PS3 account that downloaded it before the fixed release. *cough* Only a complete QA moron would test the fixed songs from a PSN account that didn't have the broken one first before giving the patch the green light.

Anyway... To you saying that this is a Sony problem.. I can't imagine Harmonix not asking a simple question like, "Ok, so the whole purpose of this patch is to fix a bug. If someone redownloads the file, will they get the new file or the old one?". It's now almost 3 weeks without a fix. One would think that if this was a Sony problem, Harmonix would have already pounded them for answers and given us a bone by now.. But, I guess not.

    Ohh, and by the way..

It's starting to sound to me as if the Playstation Store updates the tracks for purchase, but if you try to re-download a purchase, it will continue to download the old version that you purchased and not the new one that has been uploaded.

Of course, that doesn't explain why Brass in Pocket is showing up correctly, since I bought that when it first came out and it appeared when I re-downloaded it. Hmm...
So, it may seem that Brass in Pocket was done correctly.. But the other not.. Would be nice to have someone else confirm this since I don't have that song.

John, I have Brass in Pocket and it was fixed by the download. It now shows up in the Genre list. I have the police pack, not the individual songs so I don't know if the songs are fixed or not. I re-download the pack every Thursday hoping it will work.

We really should not be expecting ANY major fixes to this game. A small problem that's been around for months and can't be fixed and people are talking about Online BWT??!!?? or Solo Bass Tour?? C'mon

vicpac, thanks for responding.. I pretty much figured most had quit reading my rants and the Harmonix crew probably have me on ignore by now.. Others in this thread have mentioned that the individual police songs didn't work either..

    anyway...

This pretty much shows that a patch should work the way we expect it, so the issue seems to be Harmonix.. They just don't feel the need to put much time into correcting our issue.. *sigh* And like you say, if the PS3 can't even get enough love for a simple genre bug fix, any real improvement is out of the question.

Actually, yeah. I noticed that there were a few songs missing when playing Band Quickplay with my friends. But I figured it was just me being ******ed. Then a few days later they were like, "oh hey, these were messed up." And I was like, "so it wasn't me!" But its not like it's a big thing, especially since it's usually just me playing by myself, in which case I'm in solo career trying to improve my scores.

I tried it *again* late Thursday, and it was a no-go. I wonder if we need to start creating obnoxious "HMX THE PATCH IS BROKEN" threads to get noticed, because obviously nobody's reading this one.

Whenever I read the phrase "DLC Patch Notes", I instinctively think for a second that you fixed the charts for Rockaway Beach and Bang A Gong so that they are possible to gold star. You guys should really add another overdrive phrase to each of those songs and then rerelease them, it really bugs borderline OCD Rock Band completionists like me.

    orly?

I'm not sure what to tell you. I will bring this up again to see if we get a different answer, but assuming you're taking it from your download list, I'm not sure what the problem could be, especially since the problem has been verified fixed. Like I said, though, I'll bring it up again.

John, no ps3 owners have had luck with the patch for the Police Pack or for Limelight. The Pretenders song patched fine, though.

I just tried re-downloading the Police Pack from my download list (~11pm March 24th). It seemed to download fine (although there wasn't an option to "install" it after the download was complete). Unfortunately, re-downloading did not cause the songs to appear when I sort my song list by genre. It would be a real hassle if we have to delete all of our Rock Band game data to get this patch to work...
