Question Do you wear gloves when drumming?

Does anybody do this? What type of gloves do you wear? I've considered either baseball batting gloves, or golf gloves, but the baseball ones are uncomfortable at the wrist and the golf ones I couldn't find anything that I liked the fit of (granted, it was only one store at this point)

Wondering what others have done and what they like?
How do the gloves hold up?

Hmm... I don't and I've never heard of anyone doing that. But maybe I'll look into it, sounds like a good idea. Does anybody find drumming barefoot easier too? Just a side question.

Haven't used gloves here, although I started to consider it when I first started playing as the random stick toss happened pretty frequently (along with hitting the guide button).

As far as barefoot, yeah I normally either play barefoot or with just socks on...seems to give me a little more control over the pedal and help me not to feel like I'm going to step through it and crack it.

I actually tape my fingers up before i play to get grip, Hockey Tape is cheap and plentiful.

There are 2 popular brands of drumming gloves, Ahead and Zildjian. I personally use the Ahead gloves when I'm playing with my real band, because I get nasty blisters if I don't. I've been using the Ahead gloves for years and love them.

I can't possibly see a need for using them when playing RB though. If you find yourself getting blisters from playing this game, you're holding your sticks too hard.

Listen to the immortal words of .38 Special...hold on loosely, but don't let go!

Hmm...haven't tried gloves, but it's not a bad idea. Especially since every time I think RttH may show up on a random BWT setlist, my palms start to sweat like crazy.

I always drum in my socks. Before I got my Destroyer Pedal, it was so I wouldn't inadvertently snap the little stock pedal in half. Now, I do it because I like to be able to feel exactly where my foot is on the pedal.

Sorry, but I think wearing gloves while playing Rock Band only increases your nerd status. I feel lame enough banging on a plastic drum set, I don't want to make it worse.

And for me, barefoot drumming is definitely the way to go, for Rock Band at least.

I wear gloves when I drum with those cheap azz drum sticks (I got a splinter the first day I used them). My gloves are some .99 store gloves (the magic stretch kind with rubber grip material on them). I used them because they were handy but don't make me lose feeling or grip.
