Default Best adhesive for gum rubber pads?

Hello,
Do you guys have some suggestions for the best tape / adhesive for the gum rubber pads? I've tried the double sided carper fiberglass kind and another double sided carpet tape that was clear. Neither holds them on that well. Usually within an hour their coming off.

Thanks!

I bought some Duro All-Purpose Spray Adhesive from Walmart for 4 bucks. Just clean the pads and drums with warm soapy water. Then when they are dry, spray the back of the pads and stick them on. Holds excellent. And if you decide you want to take them off, peels right off. Just rewash with warm soapy water and there ya go.

I plan on using spray adhesive. Just make sure that the pads and drums are clean and wiped down with Isopropyl Alcohol first. Then spray the pads pretty well and let set for maybe a minute or two and then apply to drums. If they don't stick as well as you would like, then tape off the drum pads and spray those as well along with spraying the pads. They should most definitely stay in place after that. I haven't done this yet, but it's going to be my approach. I'm just very familiar with the sray adhesives effectiveness.

Also, not all spray adhesives are equal, 3M makes a "Heavy Duty" adhesive just to let you know. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! So when you take these off, if they leave a residue behind on the drums it's easy to clean off with some soap and water?

Yea, had no trouble getting mine clean. Had to take the red one apart to work on it. Not registering some of the hits. Went ahead and took of the pad while I was doing it just to see how hard it was to get clean. Cleaned right up, no issues.

I used rubber cement. Seemed obvious. I just put it on, and haven't yet tried playing with it so I can't say how it works. (put it one both pieces, let dry, then stick for better holding power - that is the only trick I know of with it) I'm pretty sure that if need be I'll be able to pull it off, but hopefully I won't have to.

I also used the Duro All-Purpose Spray Adhesive from Walmart. Worked out great.

I ended up getting some multipurpose adhesive spray from Elmers. I figured it would suck. I played for 5 hours last night and it worked perfect. Normally after about 2 hours that carpet tape would start coming off. So, another brand that works is Elmers

I used Scotch double sided clear tape. Put several lines on the back of the pad (like pretty much cover it) and place it onto the drums and press it down.

Mine have not moved a millimeter since placing them. I used the Vic drum mutes and cut them to fit the drums.
