Ideas..When joining Multi-game I am sent to (local multiplayer?)

    First, thanks for reading this...

When hosting a multiplayer game all goes well, all my friends and others join with no problems. When I am sent an invitation to join a multiplayer game I am always sent to the (local players screen and not able to connect.)
Please, offer an idea or suggestion, thank you!

    Kevin

P.S. I am thinking it is something I am doing that is causing this...

When asked to join a game, it sends you to a screen where you ( and whomever else you may be playing with locally ) may join that game. Now, here are some things that can happen:

1 - Let's say you are on drums, but the person who invited you is on drums, you will not be able to connect. This can apply to any other instruments.

2 - Same as above, but due to your local friend being on a duplicate instrument.

3 - The host already filled the room.

4 - Any combination of the above.

Something to always keep in-mind, thank you!

The friends that are trying to invite me are playing the guitar and I the drums. Do you think a router would keep me from joining a friends request and game?

Maybe, but I use a router and I never have any connection issues with my friends.
