Mine would be:
1. Fade to Black
2. The Four Horseman
3. Battery
Would love orion but they probably won't do a song without vocals.
The thing that makes you sound elitist is calling any portion of any band's music "craptastic". It also makes you sound like an immature teenager. Why can't you find something better to say? When you dismiss something in those terms, it gives people the impression you probably listened to one part of one song from one album and then just wrote everything else off. Which is patently unfair to do with regard to any band.
It's not a matter of agreement about the fact, yes fact, that Metallica diversified their sound. They are still heavy metal, but they dabbled in other types of sounds. I pointed out Mama Said as a perfect example of them branching into something OTHER than speed metal. It's not up for debate that they got more diverse; I'm not sure why you think it's an arguable point.
im all for master of puppets, but i would switch eye of beholder with fade to black if i was limited to 3, and id love to have one in rockband, but it is highly unlikely since it is in gh3.
chico76 is wise.
Dethboxx is eagerly anticipating the next Slayer album. Not to be confused with the Slayer album before that, or the one before that, or the one before that...
There are several songs that overlap from GH3 and Rock Band,
Number of the Beast, 3s and 7s, Sabotage... There are probably a few others too I just don't remember them.
One would be so much fun on drums that I absolutely want to see it on Rock Band at some point in time. I think For Whom The Bell Tolls and maybe something from Kill 'Em All like The Four Horsemen would be cool additions.
There is already way more than enough information posted in this thread to show that your comment is ignorant and uninformed. Learn to read please.
And to Chico, I use the word 'craptastic' because their music is so unredeemably awful that it does not deserve a more thoughtful analysis.
Metallica just branched off a bit for the late albums, don't get me wrong, I am ready for some kill em all, ride the lightning, and justice sounding albums. I hope this new album is in that area.
