    ELP vs Rush

Ok, there are lots of threads with "who is the better band" themes. Now, how about we break them down. Who has the better bass, drums, vocals, and guitar?

Ok, progressive rock mega-group trio battle time.

    Emerson, Lake, & Palmer
The world's first progressive rock supergroup. Not performing together anymore, Emerson and Palmer's playing styles have hampered their skills recently, but in their prime were amazing. Almost broke up while recording Tarkus, because Greg Lake didn't like the way the album was going. Lake is an underrated bassist and also played guitar, and Emerson and Palmer are always considered some of the best for their instruments. Magnum Opus = Brain Salad Surgery

    Keith Emerson - keyboards
    Greg Lake - bass
    Carl Palmer - drums

    Rush
Been pretty much the same three guys their entire existence. Originally had a different drummer. Still performing today, have changed their style to fit with the times. Geddy Lee has a wide vocal range, and plays great bass, Peart is a drumming machine, and Lifeson is an underrated guitarist, overshadowed by his bandmates. Magnum Opus - Moving Pictures

    Alex Lifeson - guitar
    Geddy Lee - bass
    Neil Peart - drums

Ok, now vote for who is the better of the musicians in their respected categories (DO NOT CLICK THEM ALL)

    Vocals:
    Geddy Lee - Rush
    Greg Lake - ELP

    Bass:
    Geddy Lee - Rush
    Greg Lake - ELP

    Drums:
    Neil Peart - Rush
    Carl Palmer - ELP

    Rush > ELP
    Vocals: Geddy < Lake
    Bass: Geddy > Lake
    Lead: Lifeson < Emerson
    Drums: Peart > Palmer

I like Geddy's Bass and Neils Drum's a lot better, but I find Geddy's voice slightly annoying and, while good, Lifeson's leads are nowhere as creative as Emerson's leads.
