Listen, Roger Waters and David Gilmour hate each other too much, and unless one of them dies, you're not seeing them in Rock Band. Full stop.

I'm not sure that's the case any more. They aren't opposed to RB like Page and Plant, so there seems to be an opening. They've even played together, so the hate may be fading enough for an opening.
I love new PF too, "Learning to Fly", "One Slip", "Keep Talking", "High Hopes"...... Those were awesome too. I really don't have any PF I don't like. There is so much to choose from, and they are willing to come to the table. PF would out sell and other band, hands down!

No, listen. Waters and Gilmour hate each other. This rivalry me and GNF have going? Nothing on what those two have.
Zeppelin seems more like a case of apathy than of unbridled fury for other members. I could maybe see Zep happening at some point, although I'm certainly not counting on it. But Pink Floyd are never going to reconcile their differences, and you'd be lucky to even see the non-Waters era because of that.
Seriously, short of one them dying, as morbid as that sounds, their pure differences and hate for each other means that if one says something, the other is going to say the opposite. Even if they both want their songs on Rock Band, they're going to disagree with each other out of pure spite.
There's also a small pure elitist "Rock Band is fake and gay" streak, but people get over that.
I sure hope you're wrong.
It's too bad that people are involved here. Music touches so many in diverse ways. The people involved make the art suffer. I'm listening to The Wall right now just marveling on the music. It is truly the best music to me. I listen to tons of other music, but nothing can compare to PF. They just aren't on the same level and never will be.
Yes, I'm sure Harmonix hasn't spoken to Pink Floyd in the years since the article you're just finding. They probably haven't even considered Pink Floyd as an option! Someone should tell them!

As far as I've heard, Waters and Gilmour are still against RB as a licensing issue, stems, and authenticity complaint. If you've seen evidence to the contrary, I'd appreciate a link to anything you've found.
Plus, Green Day:Rock Band did quite poorly.
And realistically, there are other heavy-hitters that would merit their own game than Pink Floyd, which, again, HMX has said they have no current interest in making.
AsianSteev: if you can read this, put more Ska songs on the RBN! Please?

Did it? We only had first month sales. Which was 82,000 copies in America, yeah? And yet here we are getting giddy when DLC sells enough to hit 8,000 units on one console.
Nobody expected Green Day to sell 2 million units, nor did it really have to. Harmonix didn't have to pay $5 million upfront like they did with The Beatles. Harmonix didn't need to fly across the ocean to chart the songs. Harmonix didn't need to manufacture an instrument bundle. Both of the DLC packs sold ridiculously well, PLUS 21 Guns is sitting in the top 150 downloads or something. Demiurge Studios handled a good portion of the game. The likenesses and songs were probably far cheaper than The Beatles, and even other acts, especially since the setlist was predominantly deep cuts, combined with 21stCB being a new album(and maybe being cheaper because of it) and the middle singles most likely being cheaper than say, American Idiot.
Green Day was THE MOST requested artist, why did they magically perform poorly just because we only have three weeks of American sales to cite?

You know, I just tested a song that refers to someone on this post. It had to be the greatest song ever!!!! I can't wait until it is available. It really hits the mark.
I know this is an old request. I know that it's been brought up a ton of times. But you know, it can be brought up a million more times, as far as I'm concerned. PF is easily my favorite band. I love tons of music....Metallica, LZ, Skinnard, 3 Doors, Brkg Beng, Arch Enemy, Beatles, ACDC...... But PF has to be my go too. I always end up listening to them at the end of the night. They are the one band that I would most like to be able to play with. If I could fantasize and be in any band, it would be PF. It is the music that speaks to me more than any other. I'd pay unquestionable amounts for PF music.
You don't have to tell me, I was part of the bet.
Good. If you want to bring it up, you've learned where the Ultimate Setlist section is, and most likely the already existing Pink Floyd thread.I know this is an old request.
