Default European and Australian Rock Band pricing boycott/petition

Greetings,

We have good news and bad news, we finally have a release date for Rock Band in Europe after a wait that felt like an eternity. The bad news being that it's going to cost the equivalent of $378 (US dollars) for the entire package. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels as if we're getting ripped off here. So, the question I have for all of you who feel that this is unfair: what are you prepared to do to change this? Are you prepared to refuse to buy the game until the prices are lowered? Also, if you have already bought Rock Band and/or live elsewhere, your signature would not be amiss of this thread. Anyone who believes that this is wrong, please make a post.

/signed Tom Orchard

I, personally, won't be buying Rock Band until the R.R.P. for all the instruments and the game is reduced to £120 ($236). Which I think isn't asking for much, given that the game and all three instruments are being sold for $169 in North America.

Call me naive for starting a petition in the official forum. I have my doubts that this thread will remain unlocked for very long.

EDIT - The Facebook group (thanks to Ben Roberts).

In that case, you'll never be buying it, cause if you think they're going to cut you some slack just cause the US dollar's not doing well right now, think again.

Then I'll never buy it. : )

Just because our economy isn't going down the drain, doesn't mean that we should be charged two and a half times the amount for the same product. That's ludicrous.

(Note my comparison to the NA R.R.P. that I've edited into the original post)

I'm with you, i'm fed up to see that Europe is a higher-price territory where editors forget money conversions.....

the fact is they're are milking the fact that european gamers have already had to wait months for this, so they know that the so called "hardcore" will buy this, even at this ridiculous price, and then my guessing is that it will be reduced to about £130 in about 6 months (i.e christmas) but knowing the hardcore wont wait until that time to buy it, milk it in the meantime.

Dear EA/MTV: Welcome to the 21st century. We have the internet now, so you can't pull bull**** like this. You think we don't know how much the US pays?

Of course I won't buy it, the price is ridiculous. However I also understand that we Europeans are arseholes. It's obvious that we are unwanted as both customers and forum posters.
