Despite all my rage, I'm still just Nicolas Cage
Once again I make a case for Rigor Mortis. Don't think I have mentioned them in this post but they are a good one for the 80's. No one else had their sound. Fastest riffs/solos ever

Is that Anselmo?! Didn't you post this in another thread?
Purificame...no me abandones.....
Jesus. What a difficult thread. I voted for Metallica because of the 80's include their first four albums. All of them being Metallica's best material. In the 80's also came Reign In Blood, probably the most influential album released for Thrash Metal at the time(Aside from MoP). Megadeth's first three albums were excellent but could not hold up to Metallica first four, and Anthrax, although I prefer the other Big Four of Thrash, released their first four albums during this time period. All great. But the edge is with Metallica.

"Oidivnikufesin N.F.V", a 1988 VHS release – never released on DVD.

Enjoy!
I got to meet him about 6 months ago and he is actually a really nice guy despite how he looks on stage.
Anyway I went with Megadeth in the 80s they had Killing is my Business, Peace Sells, And So Far So Good So What?
The first two albums were amazingly good with no bad tracks on either and some of the best songs in thrash (Rattlehead, Black Friday?) the third album was a bit weaker with some slightly strange songs but overall I still thought it was very good.
When it comes to Metallica the current leader they only had two albums I was really impressed with, kill em all and ride the lightning, only the title track on MoP and Orion were really good.
Overall I think Killing is my Business is way stronger than Kill em All, Ride the Lightning and Peace sells I would put around the same level, Master of Puppets had a few big hits but wasn't as consistantly good as sfsgsw and I wasn't a big fan of and Justice for All. When your talking about thrash metal I think megadeth is the clear choice over metallica, concidering metallica really wasn't that "thrashy" in comparison to all the other big thrash bands.
After Megadeth I would have picked Testament probably.
