Thread: We need Ratt!

  1. #31
I have to admit I was completely obsessed with the dark forces of poodle rock in high school. Maybe it was their who cares attitude or the fact that, like me, they partied better than they played music. Either way Ratt wrote some pretty catchy tunes and had Milton Burle in their videos. Looking back at their photos now, I can only laugh at them, they looked the the wipmiest biker gang ever! And I couldn't stand the way that bass player posed and flipped his guitar around. It gives me the creeps. I could say the same for Round and Round's inclusion in the movie The Wrestler.... perhaps only in context of my teenage years could I find this music approachable.

So, basically, what you're saying is that you used to like them, but don't like them so much now?

    If so, I can understand.
    Wishlist:

    Moar Grateful Dead:
    Led Zeppelin (I can dream, can't I?):
    Pink Floyd:
    Moar Who:
    Moar Ratt:

Pretty much. A lot of bands just don't stand the test of time. There's a reason you don't hear much of this kind of stuff on the radio anymore.

The joke is on you. Ratt was a better group then EVERY single band listed in your "need" list in your sig. And LOL at being played on the radio = good music.

My Bloody Valentine/Muse, possibly Radiohead, would like a word with you.

I was very impressed with how well Round and Round played in RB. And it sounded pretty amazing too. It's definately one of the most-played on-disc songs at RB parties. I'd love to see HMX keep it up and release more Ratt as DLC.

That's good enough for me, man.

All I need is Lay It Down and I've got my all time favorite 80s hair metal song.

LOL!! You're kidding right? Don't let Ratt's image lessen the impact of their well-written, well-played songs.

You must not have heard of My Bloody Valentine... they influenced an entire genre of alternative music (shoegaze)...

~so nothing against Ratt, but I definitely can't say they're better than MBV.

    /off topic

That said, sure, "Round and Round" is an awesome song so I'd like some more Ratt songs in the game.
Lionel Richie - "Running with the Night"
    Camel - "Lady Fantasy"
Type O Negative, Bad Brains, Madonna

    More:
    Dire Straits, Interpol, The Strokes

I really started up some enthusiasm for Ratt by resurrecting this thread.

Going to see Ratt next month and can't wait. I've probably already mentioned this so I apologise if I'm repeating myself.
You can't kill the hair metal!

    A4D album [ ]
    Def Leppard [X] Yes!
    Whitesnake [X] Yippee!
    Poison [X] Oh yeah!
    Cinderella [X] Amazing!
