    X-box with Blu-Ray

I searched and didn't see any posts so...

    Just saw this on G4.

    http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/pos...s_Surface.html

    Any thoughts?

Anybody know anything more or have some links to confirm this?

PS3 is kind of hurting (IMO) and this is going to make their fight a little harder since the BD player one one of it's big selling points. I really don't care, I own them both, but for some, this could make their decision harder (or easier, guess it depends).

    its never gonna happen

Microsoft doesn't even want to use blu-ray

and sony doesnt want them to have it

(yes i know of the whole blu-ray association or what ever its called but i have also heard that sony controls a lot larger part than the other companies in it)

I don't know. I think it would be pretty stupid of Microsoft to not do this. With games getting bigger and bigger, they are going to seriously limit their game catalogue. Hell, some games are so damn big now, and don't fit on a Blu-Ray Discs. MGS4 had to dumb down some of the graphics to fit on a Blu-Ray Disc.

Again, Microsoft may have stated they didn't want to use it initially, but I really don't think they are so short sighted as to not take advantage of the format if they can.

I'm hoping they do. Honestly, I prefer my 360 over my PS3 (untill MGS4 comes out that is). My X-Box gets all my playtime and my PS3 plays my kids Disney Blu-Rays.

    Here's hoping.

well microsoft it supposed to release xbox 720 in a little ove year and a half so i don't think they should get one just for movies

they should just put it in the xbox 720 and then wellxbox 720 is going to be a failure cause its going to be compared to ps3 which already would have a huge library while the xbox 720 is just coming out

and sony plans to extend console wars to about 8 -10 while microsoft plans on making every 4-5

thats a big difference and its pretty dumb on microsoft's part

hell, sony could have just stared making all ps2 games dvd-dl and competed with the 360 like that
and probably won because it has such a huge variety of games

Microsoft's not going to buy Sony's technology
Sony isn't going to sell Microsoft their technology.

It's a rumor that came from a factory in China...Microsoft gets their stuff manufactured in Mexico...

And there's ten years in a decade. It's going to be released within those ten years.
