I'm thinking AT LEAST two off the top of my head: anything by Yngwie Malmsteen and some Steve Vai in there. That should be enough to keep people from getting bored with the thing

all three value technical ability over expression and emotion.

I appreciate the technical side of musicians though, I think it shows their real skill just like in anything else, the more technical you are, the more likely to be good in my opinion.

Eric Clapton and Jimmy Hendrix would be the two that come to my head.

hendrix and clapton both play with far more emotion than malmsteen, van halen, and vai.

hendrix and clapton both play well, but not nearly as fast. are they as TECHNICALLY talented? perhaps not, but their songs will last forever because you can feel them.

I can't really get crazy technical guitarists, like The Buddhist Palm said I like inspiring guitar solos. Anyway I think Alex Lifeson is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time and for me he would have to be up there.
