Starting off this week's blog-tracking thread with a continuation of last week's brain dump on music and education. Forgive the stream-of conscious writing.

Wow, HMXJohnlok is even more boring in his Rock Blogs than he is in person. He works right next to me and all day is a total snoozefest crossed with a yawnathon.

Check out my Rock Blog instead! It's action packed and full of excitement!

Can we get some better tunes for RockBand DLC? You have Rolling Stone Magazine's top 500 Rock songs of all time. This week's pack is really lame. I don't think any of those songs are in the top 100 of all time and maybe even the top 500. This is the primo game out there. If you don't want to lose market share to that *other* game, you better start satisfying. You should take a poll/survey like that *other* game did...

Actually Train in Vain is number 292 on that list.

Train in Vain is a very good song, one of the Clash's best. Very catchy.

In the Top 100 that is in Rock Band...

    Blitzkreig Bop
    Fourtunate Son

You look through the list and you'll find a few other RB songs.

Train in Vain is a great song. I think the first time I heard it was actually from Rodney Mullen's skate part in Almost Round 3. If it weren't for the fact that its so easy (gold starred it with 100% first try =/) then it'd be more enjoyable.

18 songs, in fact. 17 if you don't count Monkey Gone To Heaven, which isn't out yet. But at least 20 if you still believe Nevermind and Who's Next are coming, and another 2 at minimum if you believe being on the leaked list makes a song a shoe-in. (If Satisfaction does show up, it'll be the highest possible song. IIRC, Like A Rolling Stone wouldn't work.)

And I know some people don't really agree with Rolling Stone... but the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's list of 500 songs that shaped rock and roll has 8 matches with the game- and again, another two if Nevermind/Who's Next were coming for sure. There's even 8 matches in just the top 50 of Popoff's top 500 Heavy Metal songs.
