IN THE GAME they are not classified as New Wave. That is the point.

As for the number of songs (talking about only DLC here)

    5 Talking Heads songs
    2 Devo songs

    5 + 2 = 7 ...
Lionel Richie - "Running with the Night"
    Camel - "Lady Fantasy"
Type O Negative, Bad Brains, Madonna

    More:
    Dire Straits, Interpol, The Strokes

    What about the Police?

The Police were an English rock trio, from London, England, formed originally in 1977. The trio consisted of Sting (lead vocals, bass guitar), Andy Summers (guitar, vocals) and Stewart Copeland (drums, vocals, percussion). The band became globally popular in the late 1970s and are generally regarded as one of the first New Wave groups to achieve mainstream success.

    The Cars
The Cars were an American rock band that emerged from the early New Wave music scene in the late 1970s.

This is a completely worthless tangent that would be best served if both parties just let it drop. It doesn't matter if genre X has more songs than genre Y.

Long story short: Harmonix has to cater to many, many different people. Hair metal fans are just one kind of person, there are many other music fans that would like to see their favorite genre in the game too, including new wave fans and fans of genres that have very little representation in the game, like reggae, soul, rockabilly, black metal, and shoegaze. That doesn't mean you should go into threads of bands that did get DLC and rain on their parade. If you really want me to, I'll go into the hair metal thread when more hair metal is released and say "ew, hair metal sux, it doesn't deserve to be in the game. more new wave plz", but that would be stupid and immature, just like a certain person's comments in this thread. Patience is a virtue, you know.

Would you pay for music by Beck?
    Maybe.
What if you heard he owned a plane made of gold?
    Sure.
Good, because he needs the money.

Actually many of us in the hair thread...myself definately included...are more than happy to see the Talking Heads I've been saying since I arrived on this scene that we need more 80's in general, certainly not JUST hair metal...bring on more Talking Heads (esp. Burning Down The House), Adam Ant, The Stray Cats, Eurithmics, Oingo Boingo, David Bowie, B-52's... etc as for myself I'll enjoy that just as much as Poison, Def Leppard, White Lion, Dokken...

Now that we've got some Talking Head's DLC, I'm hoping for some Tom Tom Club.
