Actually it isn't Activision (perse) that makes it difficult, it's Neversoft Activision just distributes the game and they slap thier label on it...

Activision helped make GH1 and 2 and please don't forget out beloved Call of Duty 4... Neversoft is the bad company at this not Activision xD

Yeah, this whole 3 drum pad thing doesn't make sence to me really. I'm just curious how many songs actually need more then 3 designated pads? David and I were talking rescently in another post about how many real drummer actually use this actually configuration.

I think if you break down the ratio of songs actually needing 4 drum pads is smaller then the ratio of songs needing only 3 pads, hi-hats and a cymbal. So as much as I like the RB drums for functionality on the RttH type fillls, I would like to use a hi-hat and cymbal more for those designated parts rather then having the pads change sounds. Hi-hats and cymbals (Both ride and crash) are used way more then a 4 piece drum fill.

So I'm curious how many songs that are currently in RB could use these different drums without making a drum pad use 2 different sounds? Just a plain ole 4 piece drum set with the hi-hats and cymbal. Of coarse the cymbal could be used as a crash/ride.

So anyway, yeah it's a different design, but might be more realistic in the sence of hitting the proper drum or cymbal. I don't think harder is a concern at all, just different and I think more realistic personally. Only time will really tell about these things including the game play as well.

Though I keep going through drums on my RB game, they could still design a better set which is what I think they should do. I just got the latest EL's last night from the stand alone kit and hoping these things work well right out of the box becauce I am personally sick and tired of having to mod these things to try and get them to work 100%. Very frustrating when the Best Buy people know you by name because of returning these drums ever month or so.

Activision had nothing to do with GH1 or GH2. Developed by Harmonix, published by RedOctane. Activision now publishes because they bought out RedOctane.

Activision published Call of Duty 4, but they also took Infinity Ward off of CoD3 and replaced them with Treyarch, which turned out to be an unmitigated disaster.

I agree, the cymbals will make the songs more realistic. We don't know exactly how they would chart a roll like the one in RttH, but it shouldn't be any more wierd than having pads that alternate functions, which ends up having your high-hat to the right of your snare.

Also the design seems to take after the drums from drummania, RO is actually sticking to the something pre-establish. RB are the ones who went another route. I think people who have played the other drumming games will be more comfortable with the GHIV drums.

Activision only had to do with the 360 version of GH2, not the original PS2 version.

I don't know, i would have paid another $20 dollars over all for the price of the game if they had just added one more pad for the floor tom. It would have been a perfect setup if they did.

Does anyone know if my omega pedal will work with the GH4 set?

The cool part is they are being made by a company known to make kick ass periphrials, especially since I am on my 8th set of RB drums as of tonight (Thankyou Best Buy). So please enlighten me here.
They have a history of making DDR ripoff games, and they ripped that design straight from Drummania, not surprising though because the set was designed by the same guy that deisgned the Drummania set.
